The Sedan Elementary, Middle School and High School will be opening their doors to students on Wednesday, Aug. 20.

This year parents are invited to attend the first day with their students as part of a new tradition at the school — the First Day of School Celebration.

The school day will begin at 8 a.m. Many activities are planned for students and their parents in grades K-12. Parents will have an opportunity to meet their child’s teachers and learn about many of the programs that the district has to offer.

There will be drawings throughout the day and a free cookout for parents, students and community members. The day will end around 1 p.m. with a schoolwide pep rally at the football stadium.

Area employers are being contacted and encouraged to allow their employees to attend this event with their child.
