Sedan Community VBS slated for June 23-27
The Sedan Community Wide Vacation Bible School will start Monday, June 23 and end on Friday, June 27. The time schedule for each day is from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Any students who do not pre-register need to arrive at 8 a.m. During the open class fair this week in the evenings, a registration table will be available to pre-register students.
The theme this year is “Power Lab: Discovering Jesus’ Miraculous Power.” This will be a VBS different than anything the youth have seen and experienced in the past. The week will be filled with science experiments, hyperspeed games, an awesome Bible blast, test tube treats, cinema science and wacky works crafts.
The opening and closing sessions this year will be at the First Baptist Church. Everyone in the community is invited each day to sit in the back of the church and participate in the opening from 8:30 to 8:55 a.m. and/or the closing from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Children ages 4 to fourth grade are invited to attend.
Any students who have completed the fifth grade to high school who just want to have some fun are invited to “Oozology.” Oozology is a program designed for older youth that allows them to still be a part of VBS doing their on special program. Information is available at the local banks and the Sedan City Library.
On Tuesday, June 24 we will be adjusting the schedule of VBS so all the students can participate in the Sedan Public Library’s program on the courthouse lawn. This year we will also have a float in the Chautauqua County Fair Parade on Saturday June 21. If you would like to ride on the float, meet by the Chautauqua Hills Dental Clinic at 9:30 am.
Next week will provide details on the big Friday Finale that will begin at 11:30 a.m. for all the participants and family members of VBS. For VBS registration questions, contact Judy Tolbert at 620-725-3074. Registration can also be completed on the internet at https://groupvbs.com/webtoybox/myvbs/sedankansas.
