The Sedan High School baseball and softball teams are bound for the class 2A-1A state tournament following their successful wins in the regional finals on Tuesday night.

For the Blue Devil baseball team, a berth to the state tournament came courtesy of an 11-1 win over Flinthills in the regional tournament championship game. Sedan also defeated Central-Burden, 16-1, in the regional semi-final round.

The Sedan softball team defeated Elk Valley, 12-1, in the regional finale to qualify for the state tournament. The Lady Blue Devils defeated Flinthills, 9-3, in the semi-final round.

The Kansas State High School Activities Association will release pairings for the class 2A-1A state tournament on Friday.  The state tournament will be played in Emporia, Kan., on May 23-24.
