Sedan vocal groups to present spring concert

The Vocal Music Department of Sedan High School will present their spring concert on Tuesday, May 6 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

The concert will feature the concert choir and select choir. The concert choir students will sing songs they performed for contest this year as well as a variety of selections including “You Raise Me Up,” “He Never Failed Me Yet,” “Embrace the Music” and many others.

They will perform “Kyrie Eleison” and “Come To The Music,” their two contest selections.
The select choir will be singing “Shenandoah”, the song they performed at the state music festival last Saturday and received a “I” rating. They will also be singing and performing choreography to several “pop” selections.

The vocal students who performed at the state music festival will also be singing one of their songs and Matt Beason, piano student, will perform on the program.

The senior members of choir will also be honored during the program. There is no admission fee and the public is welcome and encouraged to attend. The choirs are under the direction of Rosie Sweaney and Trish Roudybush, student teacher.
