Sedan Chamber seeking YBR parade floats
Jeannie Walker at the Sedan Chamber of Commerce reminds everyone to consider entering a float in the Yellow Brick Road Festival Parade on May 24.
“We look forward to a big crowd in our downtown area and we want to entertain them with a great parade,” Walker said.
Anyone interested should drop by the Chamber of Commerce office at 108 Sherman or call Jeannie at 725-4033 with your entry.
Lots of events are being planned for the festival and Dick Jones has been named the parade chairman.
The day’s activities will also include a 5k walk/run, an art show at the Kurtis Art Studio and Plaza, mountain oyster cook-off, children’s sidewalk chalk art, games and contests.
In addition, alumni of Sedan High School will be holding their class reunions at the city park which will draw many out-of-town visitors to town.
The Chautauqua Hills Blues Festival is also planned for that weekend and Greg Wilkinson has scheduled a full agenda on both Saturday and Sunday. Many of the locally popular bands will return this year, along with several new ones that will be announced in the coming weeks.
