Hot weather is forecast for the rest of this week, and swimming pools in Sedan and Howard will be ready for anyone eager to cool off.

The Sedan pool has actually opened and Lynette Kill, manager, said the water is just the right temperature.

Admission prices for the Sedan pool are: Adult $3.00; 12 and under $2.50; family pass(immediate family) $130.00; adult season pass $80.00; child season pass $70.00.  Pool parties from 6 to 8 p.m. will be $75. Read more

Saturday, June 5, is the date for the countywide clean-up in Elk County.

Since it will be the first Saturday of the month, the recycle trailer will be in Longton and Elk Falls starting at 9 a.m. (Longton) and moving to Elk Falls from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. However, the big news that day happens at the Moline Rodeo Grounds.

Starting at 9:30 a.m., there will begin an e-waste collection team accepting all electronic devices from TV’s to cell phones to CD and DVD Players, microwave ovens, patch cords, and chargers. This event is made possible by a Butler County grant. Read more
