West Elk play opens Friday

dramaWest Elk Play Productions, under the direction of Sedan resident Cristine Warring, will present the play “Scaramouche” on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 13 and 14, at 7 p.m. each evening in the West Elk High School Auditorium.

The public is invited to attend the presentation about the French Revolution that includes sword fights, love triangles, nobility verses commoners, and a scoundrel named Scaramouche.

Admission to the play will be $4 for adults and $2 for children ages 6-12. Set designers for the play are Dean Baum and Linda Shilts-Baum.

WEHS students in the cast are Leigh Camper, Michael Berry, Sarah Taliaferro, Zack Carlson, Joseph Wacaster, Ben Bellar, Cortney Miller, Cole Mull, Luke Bellar, Eve Lawrence, Geena Mericle, Amber Wacaster, Matt Gorton, and Bobbie Julian.

Crew members for the play are Korie Jones, Chenise Wunderlich, Jacque Girard, Dylan Morgan, Jessica Hottman, Corina Altis, Cali Portenier, Seth Miller, Levi McGee, Levi Smith, and Keysto Malone.

The West Elk FCA will also be serving dinner before the play on Friday night from 5:30-7 p.m. The dinner will consist of a soft taco or monterrey dinner, pie, cake, and drink all included for $6. It will be served in the West Elk Cafeteria.

A matinee will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. for the Moline Elementary students.
