Sedan High School will crown its 2009 football homecoming king and queen at coronation ceremonies at halftime Friday, Oct. 9, at Prather Field. This is a chnge from the past.
Four SHS senior girls are vying for the title of queen while four senior boys are candidates for the king crown.
Among the members of the royalty court are (front row, left to right) freshmen Bryson Zimmerman, freshman Lindsay Jones, sophomore Paxton Kerley, junior Baylee Williams and junior Kyle Williams. Queen candidates are (second row) seniors Bailey Smith, Sarah Buck, Jennifer Payne and Chelsie Wade.
The king candidates are (back row, left to right) senors Justin Harter, Jacob Germann, Scotty Mitchell and Alex Germann. Not pictured is sophomore court representative Trae Smith. Kickoff for the Pleasanton/Sedan football game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The SHS Homecoming Parade is scheduled for 2:15 p.m., Friday afternoon and culminate with a pep rally on the grounds of the Chautauqua County Courthouse. The ever-popular jersey auction, in which players’ road jerseys will be auctioned for wear to Friday’s game, will also be held after the parade.
