There was a good crowd on hand for Saturday’s “Blues on the Green” in Longton. Bands included Doc Fuzz and the Antidotes from Independence, Kevin Pharis Band from Tulsa and the Howlerz band from the Winfield area. Richard and Kay Claytor have hosted this annual festival for the past 14 years in their spacious yard which comprises several acres. With many events being held in surrounding communities last weekend, the turnout was lower than usual but the Claytors are already making plans for next year’s Blues on the Green. Also held Saturday at the same location was the “Mason’s Day” celebration which was a fundraiser for a foundation founded earlir this year to provide support and awareness for individuals with autism.
