Tickets are now on sale for a family oriented professional wrestling event in Sedan.
World League Wrestling, in conjunction with the Chautauqua County Boy Scouts, will be coming on Saturday, Sept. 12 to the Sedan junior high (old) gymnasium. The doors open at 6 p.m. and matches start at 7 p.m.
The event will feature six matches, including an “Eight Man Battle Royal.” Headliners include “Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase and the “World’s Strongest Woman” Becca Swanson. Eight time NWA World Champion Harley Race will also be on hand. In addition, there will be an autograph session at the Green Door Cafe at 3:30 p.m. the day of the event.
World League Wrestling is an arm of the Harley Race Wrestling Academy located in Elton, Mo. Their primary mission is to train students to become professional wrestlers and to provide family-oriented sports entertainment throughout Missouri, Kansas and Iowa.
Unlike much of the pro wrestling seen on television, WLW does not produce extremely violent or sexually explicit shows. This event is appropriate for children and people of all ages.
Tickets are on sale now at Floyd’s and One Stop in Sedan, Poplar Pizza in Howard, Short Stop in Cedar Vale and Floyd’s Town and Country in Caney. Ticket prices are $15 and $10 in advance and $17 and $12 the day of the show. Proceeds from the event will help fund the Chautauqua County Boy Scouts.
On Sunday, Sept. 13 at 10:30 a.m., former WWE Wrestling Superstar Ted Dibiase will be the guest speaker at First Christian Church.
Dibiase, who was known world-wide as the “Million Dollar Man,” is now an evangelist and is a spokesperson for the Sunshine Foundation, an organization that grants wishes for critically ill children. He also founded Heart of David Ministries, which focuses on men and youth utilizing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Sedan Christian Church invites the public to come and join on Sunday, Sept. 13. Nursery will be provided.
