Senator Derek Schmidt will continue his annual district listening tour with six stops in Chautauqua County on Wednesday, Sept. 9. Joining Schmidt will be Representative Jeff King, who represents most of Chautauqua County in the Kansas House of Representatives.
Each year, Schmidt visits every incorporated town in his nine-county 15th Senate District in order to be easily available to constituents.
“We’ve had some great ideas and conversation so far this year,” said Schmidt, R-Independence. “I look forward to visiting Chautauqua County.”
“Every year I look forward to my listening tours around the 12th District,” said King, R-Independence. “These meetings help me learn about constituent concerns so that I can address them effectively in the state legislature.”
In addition to coming to a listening tour stop, citizens with comments or concerns about Kansas public policy or who need help with any aspect of state government can contact Schmidt year-around at the State Capitol, Room 390-E, Topeka, Kansas 66612 or by phone at (785) 296-2497. They also can send e-mail through his website at www.DerekSchmidt.com.
