Schmidt and King to tour Elk County

TOPEKA - Senator Derek Schmidt will continue his annual district listening tour with five stops in Elk County on Wednesday, Sept. 2.  Joining Schmidt will be Representative Jeff King, who represents Elk County in the Kansas House of Representatives.

Each year, Schmidt visits every incorporated town in his nine-county 15th Senate District in order to be easily available to constituents.

“The listening tour is a great opportunity for me to visit and listen to the people I represent,” said Schmidt, R-Independence. “I hope folks will take time to come by to share what’s on their minds and let me know if they have any difficulties with state government that I might be able to help resolve.”

“I look forward to joining Senator Schmidt for the Elk County listening tour,” said King, R-Independence.  “It is imperative that elected officials take the time to visit with and listen to their constituents, and our listening tour provides a great opportunity for that to occur.”

In addition to coming to a listening tour stop, citizens with comments or concerns about Kansas public policy or who need help with any aspect of state government can contact Schmidt year-around at the State Capitol, Room 390-E, Topeka, Kansas 66612 or by phone at (785) 296-2497. They also can send e-mail through his website at www.DerekSchmidt.com.
