Parents and families of Unified School District 286, home of the Sedan Blue Devils, are invited to join your child, teachers, and administrators on the first day of school, Wednesday, Aug. 19. The celebration includes the entire school.

This community-wide celebration is an opportunity for you to help your child start the school year right. You’ll meet the parents of your child’s classmates, learn some easy and effective ways to help your child do better in school, get to know people who share an interest in your child’s education, and share in a free cook-out for all parents and community members. There’s no better way to spend the first day of the school year.
The school day will begin at 8 a.m. At 10:30 a.m. parents of elementary students are invited back to attend the activities fair, have lunch with their child, and visit their child’s classroom open house.

Junior high and high school parents are invited to attend a parent-student assembly with Mr. Todd at 10:30 a.m., then have lunch with your student.

Following lunch and the elementary open house everyone will meet at the football stadium. School will be dismissed at approximately 1 p.m.
