Artwork sought for entrance to Chautauqua County

Proposals are being sought by the Chautauqua County Economic Development Board for artwork to be used for a new billboard at the eastern edge of the county.

The billboard will be located east of Niotaze near the Montgomery/Chautauqua County line along U.S. Highway 166.

Mark Palmer of rural Peru said the art graphics must be professional quality and compatible in both style and color with the Flint Hills sign located nearby.

“The artwork should draw attention to our scenic Chautauqua Hills and make visitors and residents feel good about being here,” Palmer said.

A prize of $100 will be awarded to he person submitting the winning artwork.

Proposals must be submitted by Aug. 31, 2009 to Mark Palmer, 537 Road 25, Peru, KS 67360 or electronically to <palmer.mark@att.net>.
