Organizers ready for summer fair

fair-big-funThe Chautauqua County Fair will be held July 22-25 this year, combining both the county fair and the 4-H fair.

The Round-Up Club will have a rodeo Friday and Saturday night.  The car show is scheduled to be at the fair grounds on Saturday along with the Caney Antique Tractor Club.

The bean feed, 4-H Style Revue, and gospel show will be Wednesday. There will be a hypnotist show on Thursday and Friday.  Open mic and kid’s pedal pull will be on Thursday.  The local 4-H will have a youth dance Friday, and Saturday is the big parade.

The Little Mr. & Miss contest will also  be held again this year.

There will be inflatables this year instead of a carnival.  Bracelets may be purchased each night.  Volunteers are needed to help man these inflatables.  Organizers are in need of four volunteers each hour from 5-10 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  This will consist of making sure each kid is wearing the right color bracelet, shoes are off, no sharp objects, and no candy.

Cedar Vale After Prom will conduct bingo, the Boys Scouts will have a dunk tank, Sedan Stuco will have balloon darts, Luis and Harp will have a dunk tank and spinning wheel.  We are still looking for other organizations to provide games or activities.

We are looking for an organization to sponsor a Saturday night dance.

We have added a youth board consisting of Macy Warburton of Cedar Vale and Brandon Underwood of Sedan.  Next year we will add two more youths for a total of four members.

If you have any questions, please contact Debbie Wall at 758-2850 or Leota Casement at 725-5312.
