• Tuesday’s boys, 7 p.m. unless noted—Fredonia (2-18) at Cherryvale (13-7); Cherokee (7-12) at Erie (9-10); Neodesha (6-14) at Caney Valley (12-7), 7:30; Galena (6-12) at Riverton (10-8).

• Thursday’s girls, times TBA—Galena-Fredonia winner vs. Riverton-Cherryvale winner; Neodesha-Caney Valley winner vs. Erie-Cherokee winner.

• Friday’s boys, times TBA—Fredonia-Cherryvale winner vs. Cherokee-Erie winner; Neodesha-Caney Valley winner vs. Galena-Riverton winner.

• Saturday’s finals—girls 6 p.m., boys 7:30.

State football playoff schedule:

• Class 3A:  Caney Valley will host Eureka next Tuesday night, Nov. 2, in a 7 p.m., game at the CVHS Stadium.  Winner of that game will face the winner of Southeast-Cherokee/Central Heights on Saturday, Nov. 6.

• Class 4A:  Coffeyville (Field Kindley) will host Independence next Tuesday night, Nov. 2 in a 7 p.m., game at Veterans Memorial Stadium.  Winner of that game will face the Paola/Fort Scott winner on Saturday, Nov. 6.

Caney Valley beats Cherryvale, 26-6, to claim the Tri-Valley League championship and secure a spot in the class 3A state playoffs; Independence defeated Iola, 53-15; Coffeyville leads Baxter Springs, 38-28, in the 4th.

Caney Valley awaits the results of the Galena-Riverton game to determine if Caney Valley is the class 3A district 1 champion or runner-up. Last report: Galena leads Riverton, 21-14, late in 4th. If Galena wins, then Caney Valley is district champion; if Riverton wins, Caney Valley is district runner-up.

Independence will play at Coffeyville next Tuesday, Nov. 2, for the start of the class 4A state playoffs. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
