COFFEYVILLE — When Coffeyville Community College offensive coordinator Kelton Copeland resigned last week to take a position at the University of South Dakota, most schools would have been in a pickle in trying to fill an important coaching void just two weeks before the start of pre-season camp. The Ravens did not have to look far to find an ideal replacement.

CANEY — Mothers of two former Caney Valley High School cheerleaders Monday pleaded with USD 436 Board of Education to end bullying at local schools and to stop protecting family members who are on the local payroll — an issue, they said, that has fueled the bullying environment.

However, the requests by Terri McDaniel and Traci Toy to review bullying and nepotism issues will have to wait until September, which is when board members agreed to begin re-examining current policies pertaining to bullying and nepotism
