AMARILLO, Texas — Ricky Ray Epps, age 49, former Independence resident, died Sunday morning, June 26, 2011, at his home in Amarillo, Texas.

Cremation has taken place.  Family conducted memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the Grace-Memorial United Methodist Church with the Reverend Willie Jones, pastor, officiating.  Inurnment will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites performed by at detail from McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Penwell-Gabel Webb & Rodrick Chapel of Independence.

The family has suggested memorial remembrances to the Ricky Ray Epps Fund to defray funeral expenses.  Remembrances will be received at the funeral home.

CANEY — Ralph K. Perkins, age 84, of Caney died Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Okla.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Potts Chapel of Caney.

Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Caney United Methodist Church and may be left at Potts Chapel of Caney.

A Celebration of LIfe Service for Ralph Perkins and his late wife, Wilma Perkins, who died on June 16, 2011, will be held at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 5 at the Caney United Methodist Church. Private burial interment will be held at a later date.

COFFEYVILLE — Patrayah Lavada Johnson, age 17 months, of Coffeyville died Saturday, June 25, 2011, after being struck by a vehicle at the family home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 2, at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel in Coffeyville. Graveside services will follow at the Fairview Cemetery Veterans Patio.

COFFEYVILLE — Warren James “Jim” Hayes, age 72, of Coffeyville died Wednesday, June 22, 2011, in Bartlesville, Okla.

A memorial service was held on Monday, June 27 at the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville. David W. Barnes Funeral Home handled local arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to the C.J. Crane Memorial Scholarship Fund at Coffeyville Community College.

TYRO – Robert J. “Bobby” Harris, 33, of Tyro, died Thursday, June 23, 2011, at his home in Tyro, Kan.

His Celebration of Life service was held at 10 a.m., Monday, June 27, 2011, at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kan., with the Chaplain Mike Graham of Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice officiating. Burial followed in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence, Kan.

Visitation was held at Potts Chapel from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, June 26, 2011, with the family receiving friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The family has suggested memorials to the AWOL or the American Cancer Society, and contributions may be left at Potts Chapel in Caney.

CANEY — Randall Etter, age 87, of Caney died Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at the Windsor Place in Coffeyville.

Celebration of Life Graveside Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 1, at the Sunnyside Cemetery with the Pastor Jim Crain of the Calvary Apostolic Church officiating under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney.

Visitation hours will be held from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, June 30, with the family receiving friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Caney.

SEBASTIAN, Fla. — Former Edna and Coffeyville resident Bernice Marie Hansen, age 102, died June 19, 2011, in Sebastian, Fla., where she had been living since 2004.

Bernice will be interred in the family plot at Edna in the North Edna Cemetery at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 28, with a graveside service. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials at the First United Methodist Church of Coffeyville.
