Charger diesel locomotive to be unveiled on Tuesday

CHERRYVALE — Watco, Inc., the parent company of the Cherryvale-based South Kansas and Oklahoma Railroad, will unveil a special diesel locomotive on Tuesday in Cherryvale.

Company employees have converted a Watco diesel locomotive, known for its customary black and yellow colors, into a blue and white locomotive with Charger mascot emblems on the sides and front.  Company officials said the special Charger locomotive was designed as a goodwill gesture for the Cherryvale community and will serve as a regular locomotive on the SKO Railroad line.

The unveiling of the Charger diesel locomotive will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 28, at the Cherryvale Depot.  The public is invited to attend.
