Ambulance involved in collision west of Coffeyville

COFFEYVILLE — An ambulance bound for an area hospital was involved in a vehicle collision on Thursday afternoon, April 28.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the Coffeyville ambulance driven by Casey D. Goff, age 27, of Coffeyville was westbound on U.S. 166 highway about three miles west of Coffeyville when a vehicle in front of the ambulance turned left into the lane of traffic as the ambulance was trying to pass the vehicle. The ambulance and the second vehicle went off the roadway and came to rest in a ditch.

That second vehicle was driven was a 1993 Lumina driven by Margie H. Rowe, age 72, of Coffeyville.

Row and an occupant in the vehicle, Ronda K. Rowe, age 40, of Coffeyville  were taken to Coffeyville Regional Medical Center for injuries.

Goff received slight injuries as did three other occupants in the ambulance. They include James E. Wilson, age 51, of South Coffeyville; Lauren M. Shepard, age 19, of Parsons; and Iona Devre, age 81 of Caney. Devre was on the gurney in the ambulance and was receiving medical assistance from Shepard and Wilson when the collision happened.
