COFFEYVILLE — Longtime Coffeyville attorney Robert “Bob” Leon Eastman, age 71, died Tuesday, March 29, 2011, after suffering a sudden heart attack.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m., April 7, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Coffeyville with the very Rev. Jerry Adinolfi officiating.  Interment will be in Independence at Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 6, from 10 a.m.

until 8 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel.

OLATHE, Kan. — Mildred Lorena Miller, age 96, of Olathe passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at her home in Olathe, Kan.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, April 2, at the Cherryvale United Methodist Church, Third and Labette streets, in Cherryvale. Inurnment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale.

CANEY – Loris Dean Moore, age 71, of Caney died Saturday, March 19, 2011, at the Fredonia Regional Hospital in Fredonia, Kan.

His Celebration of Life Service was held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at the Potts Chapel in Caney, with Rev. Brad Sanders of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial followed in the Havana Cemetery under the direction of Potts Chapel in Caney.

Dee Dodson Greenwell

JASPER, Ga. — Cherryvale native Dee Dodson Greenwell, age 63, of Jasper, Ga., died Sunday, March 20, 2011, at her residence, following a period of declining health.

At her request, Greenwell was cremated. A memorial service is scheduled for 10  a.m., Saturday, April 2, at the Tate United Methodist Church.

A funeral service was held Wednesday, March 30, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. John Collins officiating.  The burial was held at Fairview Cemetery.

SHERMAN, Texas – Harold J. “Joe” Bright, 66, of Sherman, Texas, formerly of Independence, died Thursday, March 24, 2011, at the Texas West Presbyterian Hospital in Sherman.

His Celebration of Life Service was held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 29, at the Potts Chapel, Independence, and burial followed in Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence.

ROGERS, Ark. — Former Cherryvale resident Barbara Louise Rhodes, age 69, of Rogers, Ark., died Friday, March 4, 2011 at Washington Regional in Fayetteville, Ark.

A memorial gathering was held Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Stockdale Funeral Services in Rogers.

Memorials may be made in honor of Barbara Rhodes to Highlands Oncology Group, 1202 S.E. Eagle Way, Bentonville, AR 72712.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Highlands Oncology Group in Bentonville and the staff of Washington Regional Hospital.

CHETOPA — Retired electrician and Liberty native Sylvester Lynn Marchant, age 81, of Chetopa, Kan., passed away Feb. 23, 2011, at Chetopa Manor.

A memorial service was held Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011 at the All Saints Catholic Church in Liberty.

Military rites were preformed by the Brown Bishop Honor Guard, Post #704.

Interment was at the Liberty Catholic Cemetery.

GOODMAN, Mo. – Shirley “Kinky” (Ernest) Todd, age 75, of Goodman, Mo., passed away Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, in Joplin, Mo. No services are planned.

She was a former resident of rural Caney and in earlier years had operated Dale’s Lunch in Caney. “Kinky” was a sister of Bill Ernest and Dennis Ernest from the Caney area.
