INDEPENDENCE — Gov. Sam Brownback will present Zion Lutheran School in Independence with the highest award for outstanding achievement in physical fitness.

The ceremony will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, March 3, at Zion Lutheran Church. The community is invited and encouraged to attend this event.

Zion Lutheran School earned the title of President’s Physical Fitness State of Kansas Champion for the 2009-10 school year.  This prestigious award is presented to the school with the highest percentage of its students qualifying for the Presidential Physical Fitness Award.
