CCC appoints Moley as new president

COFFEYVILLE —Linda Moley, interim president at Coffeyville Community College, was named the college’s president during Monday’s meeting of the CCC trustees.

Moley has been in the interim position since September 2010 following the departure of Dr. Don Woodburn.  Moley’s appointment will become effective July 1.

Moley has been at CCC since 1994 where she was hired to serve as a softball and volleyball coach, followed by a stint as athletic director. She also served as dean of students before attaining the title of executive vice president for college affairs and student services — which was her title when she was tabbed as interim president in 2010.

Prior to joining the CCC staff in 1994, Moley was employed at the University of Wisconsin at Stephens Point, Washburn University and Sterling College. She also served as chief executive officer of the Meadowlark Girl Scouts Council based in Independence.

Moley is a Coffeyville native, having attended CCC and Pittsburg State University. She graduated from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and a master’s degree in human performance.

The college trustees’ decision came after the trustees met in executive session, which is closed to the press and public, for less than one hour.

In other business transacted at Monday’s trustee meeting, trustees:

• hired Cami Conley as records representative and Christie Ellis as head women’s soccer coach. The trustees also accepted the resignation of Scott Carey as assistant football coach.

• agreed to issue a contract with Design Mechanical for $221,191 to service the college’s cooling system chiller-compressor on the CCC main campus. The work will be performed in April.

• recognized Ed Foster, maintenance worker, as the college employee of the month. The Phi Theta Kappa student of the month was Tristan Zavala.
