CANEY — A number of children and teenagers are still in need of adoption in the Angel Tree project, sponsored by ACTS Thrift Shop with the assistance of three local banks.
Trees are displayed at Arvest Bank, Community National Bank and Bank of America in Caney with “angels” still on the tree who need adopted for Christmas gift giving.
As of Dec. 3 Arvest still had 12, Community National Bank, 30, and Bank of American had two children left to be adopted. Arvest Bank also has five teenage boys needed for gift adoption.
The public is urged to stop by one of these banks, even if you are not a regular customer, and adopt a child/teenager to make their Christmas more merry and bright. The deadline to purchase gifts and return them to the banks is Dec. 15.
“This is a busy time of the year, but we hope people will open their hearts and help with their gift of giving to these youngsters,” said Virginia Morris, ACTS director. “It will certainly put a smile on the faces of those giving and also to those receiving.”
