Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 27 at Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale under the direction of Potts Chapel of Cherryvale.

COFFEYVILLE — James Lee “Jim” Thomas, age 71, formerly of Coffeyville died Thursday afternoon, Nov. 18, 2010, at Green Country Care Center of Tulsa, Okla.

Private family services were held Saturday, Nov. 20.  Jim was interred in Coffeyville’s Fairview Cemetery, under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel.

COFFEYVILLE — Linnie Franklin “Frank” Riley, Sr., age 90, died Thursday morning, Nov. 18, 2010 at his home in rural Coffeyville.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 23 at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel with interment in Coffeyville’s Restlawn Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory.

Celebration of Life Services were held Wednesday, Nov. 24, at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale. Burial was held in the Fredonia Cemetery in Fredonia, Kan.

INDEPENDENCE — Harry L. Eustice, age 66, of Independence, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010 at Regal Estates in Independence.

Cremation has taken place.  Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 30 at Mount Hope Cemetery with military honors from the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard from Whiteman (Mo.) Air Force Base.  Memorial remembrances may be made to Hospice Care of Kansas or AWOL and may be left at the Penwell-Gabel Webb & Rodrick Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements.

INDEPENDENCE — Leona Glasscock, age 96, of Independence died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at the Presbyterian Manor in Parsons.

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 15 at the First Presbyterian Church in Independence. Interment was held at the Mount Hope Cemetery.

The family has suggested memorial remembrances to the First Presbyterian Church, and remembrances will be received at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 18, at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Burial will be held at the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery under the direction of Potts Chapel in Cherryvale.

Reciting of the Rosary will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, at Potts Chapel in Cherryvale.

The family has suggested memorials to the Juanita Bulger Memorial Scholarship Fund, and contributions may be left at Potts Chapel in Cherryvale.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010 from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. to sign the guest register at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at the St. Andrew Catholic Church in Independence. Burial will follow with military rites by the Dewlin-Dix Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1186 in the Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Potts Chapel in Independence.

Reciting the Rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at the Potts Chapel in Independence. Visitation at the funeral home will be held from noon to 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 5.

The family has suggested memorials to the Southeast Kansas Detachment, Marine Corps League, AWOL or Catholic Youth Organization and these remembrances may be left at Potts Chapel.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 2, at the First United Methodist Church in Coffeyville. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery with VFW Post 1022 and American Legion Post 20 conducting military honors.

COFFEYVILLE — Former Coffeyville resident Betty Lou (Mahaney) Roughton, age 87, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, in Dallas, Texas.

A memorial service will be held on Nov. 12 in Dallas, Texas. In lieu of lowers, the family asks that contributions in Roughton’s name be made to her son Andy’s ministry: Crossroads Unwinding, P.O. Box 740214, Dallas, TX 75374.
