Cherryvale community members will celebrate the holiday season when the Cherryvale Chamber of Commerce sponsors the annual Cherryvale Christmas Parade on Thursday, Dec. 2.
For the second consecutive year, the parade will be held at night (starting at 6:30 p.m.) with parade entries encouraged to be festooned in lights to brighten the holiday atmosphere.
The parade route will begin near Lincoln-Central Elementary School in the 400 block of East Main and travel west through the downtown business district before terminating near the Cherryvale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Maple and West Main street.
The chamber of commerce is sponsoring a float competition for parade entries. A judge will pick the top float and award a $100 prize in Cherryvale Bucks to the winner.
Organizations, churches or businesses wishing to enter the parade should contact Tina Cunningham, chamber director, at (620) 891-0072.
