COFFEYVILLE — Field Kindley High School will host a variety of activities for Spirit Week, which is set for Sept. 20-24, culminating in Homecoming football and coronation on Friday, Sept. 24.

Spirit Week is sponsored by the FKHS Student Council with Julie Newby as sponsor. Each weekday is specifically designated as a “dress up” day so that the students can show their school spirit.

COLUMBUS — The murder of a Coffeyville woman one year ago remains unsolved. However, an area sheriff says the investigation in the murder of Brittney Sue Fox, age 19, of Coffeyville remains a high priority.

Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves said his department continues to gather tips and seek leads into the murder of Fox, whose body was found one-quarter mile east of the U.S. 166/K-26 highway junction in rural Cherokee County on Sept. 22, 2009.
