INDEPENDENCE — John Henry Foulk, age 93, of Independence died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at Regal Estates in Independence.

Memorial services with military honors will be held Penwell-Gabel Webb & Rodrick Chapel at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, with Chaplain Jeff Owen of Hospice of Kansas officiating.  Inurnment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville.

INDEPENDENCE — Naomi F. Martin, age 79, of Independence died Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at Windsor Place in Independence.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 11, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Eleanor L. Renard

CANEY — Eleanor L. Renard, age 85, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2010 at Guest Home Estates in Caney where she has resided in since 2002.

Cremation has taken place. Graveside inurnment will take place at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at the Ellsworth City Cemetery (the old cemetery) in Ellsworth, Kan. Her grandson Jamie Westerhaus will officiate.

CANEY — Caney resident Robert H. “Bob” Shively, age 81, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 19.

Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 23, at Potts Chapel, Caney. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 23, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the family receiving friends afterwards in the Parish Hall.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 24, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial at the Walnut Catholic Cemetery will begin at 2:30 p.m.

The family request memorials to the Sacred Heart Altar Society or the American Legion Avenue of Flags, and can be left at Potts Chapel, Caney.

CHANUTE — John Drummond, age 88, of Chanute, died Friday, Aug. 13, 2010 at the Chanute Health Care Center.

Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 17, at the First Presbyterian Church. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel in Chanute handled funeral and burial arranagements. Memorials in his name may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Window Restoration Fund and may be left with the funeral home.

COFFEYVILLE — Donald L. Davis, age 70, of Coffeyville died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010 at his home.

Her celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 20, at the First Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel of Independence.

Visitation at Potts Chapel will be held from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. today (Thursday) with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

CHERRYVALE – Marjorie L. Scannel, 84, of Cherryvale, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, at the Cherryvale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Her celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 21, at the Potts Chapel of Cherryvale. Interment will be at the
Fairview Cemetery, Cherryvale, under the direction of Potts Chapel.

Graveside Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 11, at the Fawn Creek Cemetery northeast of Tyro. Family will gather at the graveside for services. The Rev. John Collins will officiate.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 10, at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville.

Family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 10 at the Funeral Home.
