CHERRYVALE — The City of Cherryvale will offer free pool admission at the Cherryvale Swimming Pool on two upcoming dates so that the public can see the condition of the pool facility.
City administrator Greg McDanel alerted city councilors to the free admission from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., (all ages) and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., (adults only) on Saturday, Aug. 28 and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., (all ages) on Thursday, Sept. 2.
A survey will be given to pool guests as well as the general public so that the City of Cherryvale can receive input on the future of the local pool.
The pool, which was built in 1952, has faced significant infrastructure and maintenance challenges in recent years and is considered “beyond repair,” McDanel said.
“The City will soon face the choice of permanently closing the city pool or constructing a new pool facility,” he said. “We would appreciate the public’s comments and feedback with respect to citizen need and design features.”
Surveys forms are available at City Hall, 123 W. Main, and will also be available at each of the free admission days.
