CHERRYVALE — A Montana, Kan., man has been arrested for the theft of money from Casey’s General Stores in Cherryvale and Altamont.

Cherryvale Police Chief Matt Dennis said Dale Thurman, 44, of Montana was arrested and stands charged in Montgomery County for a “smash and grab” theft at Casey’s General Store in Cherryvale on July 28. Thurman is accused of grabbing money from the cash register while it was open for a cash transaction.
