A Caney native is returning to the music stage of his hometown on Friday night, May 28, to unveil a new recording.
Jared Daniels of the Jared Daniels Band will bring his blend of country, rock n’ roll and honky tonk sounds to Short Creek for a CD Release Party at 8 p.m., Friday, May 28, in front of a crowd that is expected to be filled to the rafters with local natives returning for high school reunions.
“It’s going to be fun,” said Daniels, from his home in Manhattan, Kan., on Tuesday night.
The release of the CD is a milestone for the Jared Daniels Band as it is the first recording made by the group. All but one song were written by Daniels and band musicians.
“You’ll hear a lot of the same themes: growing up in a small town like Caney, heartbreak and heartache,” said Daniels.
The Caney appearance of the Jared Daniels Band not only will celebrate the release of the compact disc but also start an eight-week tour of the Midwest. The Jared Daniels Band will play at various venues across Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas for the duration of the summer. One of the stops on the tour will be a performance at Country Stampede — a massive country music concert in Manhattan, Kan., on June 24-27. The Jared Daniels Band will be one of several dozen acts to perform over the course of four days. The band will share the stage with headline acts such as Miranda Lambert, LoCash Cowboys, Keith Urban, Darius Rucker, Montgomery Gentry, Jake Owen and Little Big Town.
The appearance at Country Stampede will be even more meaningful for the Manhattan-based Jared Daniels Band since the concert will be in the band’s own backyard.
The Jared Daniels Band’s new compact disc — which is a self titled compilation — will be available on iTunes and at Best Buy locations throughout the Midwest.
