A Cherryvale man was arrested on Tuesday, March 2 following the discovery of illegal drugs at his home.
Sheriff Robert Dierks said Mark Housel, Sr., age 52, of 514 E. 11th faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Housel was arrested after law enforcement officers learned that a package containing illegal drugs was being mailed to Housel’s house on March 1.
A search warrant was issued for the Housel residence on March 2, which is when officers found drugs and other paraphernalia related to narcotics in the home.
Dierks said an investigation into the origin of the package mailed to Housel was still ongoing.
