The Field Kindley High School men’s basketball team will play Nickerson in the first round of the class 4A state tournament in Salina, Kan., on Thursday, March 11. Tipoff will be at 4:45 p.m., at the Salina Bicentennial Center.
Field Kindley is the third seed in the eight-team state tournament with a 19-3 record. Nickerson is the sixth seed with a 17-6 record.
Should Field Kindley defeat Nickerson, then the Golden Nado will advance to the semi-final round on Friday at 4:45 p.m., against the winner of Ottawa/Holton. The championship game will be held at 6:15 p.m., Saturday while the consolation contest is set for 2 p.m.
However, a loss to Nickerson on Thursday would end Field Kindley’s season.
Other games on the state tournament docket on Thursday, March 11 include top seed Pratt (21-2) against eighth seed Circle-Towanda (14-9) at 6:30 p.m.; fourth seed Kansas City-Sumner (19-4) vs. fifth seed Topeka-Hayden (18-5) at 8:15 p.m; and second seed Ottawa (20-3) against seventh seed Holton (17-6) at 3 p.m.
