The Coffeyville Police Department and Independence Police Department are seeking the public’s help in locating a person who is believed to have robbed two convenience stores on Monday and Tuesday.
Commander Mike Brown of the Coffeyville Police Department said an unknown male robbed the Bailey’s Corner Store at 1308 W. Eighth shortly after 7 p.m., Monday. A story employee told police that a male entered the store, brandished a silver handgun and demanded money. The employee complied with the suspect’s demands and the suspect then fled the area on foot towards the east.
On Tuesday night, the Casey’s General Store at Penn and Oak streets was robbed by an armed male who matches the same description as the Coffeyville robbery the night before. However, the Casey’s store employee said the suspect was carrying a black or blue handgun.
Brown said the male suspect is between 5-foot-2 and 5-foot-4, weighs between 140 and 150 pounds, wears a black hoodie, black or gray pants, and black gloves. He also wore a red bandana around his face.
The Coffeyville and Independence police departments are asking that anyone with information regarding this robbery to contact local police at 620-252-6010, 620-252-6110 or the Coffeyville Police Department’s Crime Tip Line at 620-252-6133.
