CHERRYVALE — “Stomp the ‘Streaks” is the theme for the 2010 Cherryvale High School Winter Sports Homecoming Week, which will be celebrated next week (Jan. 25-29).
Events will culminate with the crowning of the 2010 Winter Sports Homecoming Queen on Friday, Jan. 29. One of three CHS seniors are vying for the crown. They include Harmoni Colvard, Emmilee Hoots and Miranda Fosnight. They will be escorted by Josh Doncouse, Dillon Blake and Nick Hockett.
The coronation will take place between the CHS varsity women’s and men’s basketball games against the Neodesha Bluestreaks.
Special theme days have also been created to bolster school spirit.
Events on Monday, Jan. 25 include “Put the ‘Streaks to Sleep.” Students are to wear pajamas.
Students are to wear black and blue on Tuesday, Jan. 26 for a day designated as “Bruise the ‘Streaks.”
Post-It Notes and tape will be fashionable on Wednesday, Jan. 27 when students “Stick it to the ‘Streaks.”
Thursday, Jan. 28 has been designated as a day to “Stomp the ‘Streaks.” Students are to wear boots of any kind.
No school will be held at Cherryvale Middle-High School on Friday, Jan. 29 due to the school hosting the FBLA District I Conference. Classes will be held at Lincoln-Central Elementary School and Thayer School.
A homecoming dance will be held in the CHS Commons Area after the Jan. 29 basketball games. The dance will end at midnight.
The CHS Student Council is in charge of homecoming activities.
