CANEY — Organizers of the Lincoln Booster Carnival report all is in readiness for the annual event to take place Saturday evening, Nov. 13, at Lincoln Grade School. The cafeteria opens at 5:30 p.m. and the game rooms will be open from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Tickets will sell that night for 25 cents per ticket or you can purchase a child’s wristband for $6 which is good for children eighth grade and younger. The wristbands are good for all the game rooms except bingo, the Bullpup Room and the Country Store. Tickets can be purchased in the main office area or in the gym.
Advance tickets will be sold today (Thursday) and Friday at the school from 7:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. and after school from 2:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Advance tickets are five tickets for $1 and wristbands will sell for $5.
The cafeteria will serve a menu of chili, hot dogs, chili dogs, BBQ beef sandwiches, nachos, drinks and desserts.
Game rooms will include Gone Fishing, Plinko, Cake Walk, Dessert Walk, Pop Toss (9 and under), Pop Toss (10 and up), Duck Pond, Spin the Wheel, Basketball Shoot, Football Toss, Grab Bag, Dice Throw, Tattoos, and two Moon Walks (one for 8 years and under, and on for ages 9-13). There will also be a Bullpup Spirit Room and the Country Store which consists of all kinds of goodies. This year there will be two bingo rooms; the rooms are smaller because of construction taking place but there will be plenty of prizes for all ages.
Every game at the carnival takes one ticket to participate including bingo.
Door prizes for both adults and kids will also be given away throughout the evening at the carnival. Register for the prizes in the main hallway and you must be present to win.
Anyone who would like to donate items for the Country Store, door prizes, cakes and pies for the Dessert Walk, Cake Walk and the cafeteria are welcome to do so. Call Cathey Scoles at 620-289-4512 or Marilyn Nelson at 620-879-5171, carnival coordinators, to donate items or for questions about the carnival.
The carnival has been a school tradition for many years and proceeds from the event are used to purchase items by the Lincoln Boosters to help further the education of the students.
Find the carnival advertisement found elsewhere in this issue listing prices, room locations of events and menu items for the carnival.
“Please plan to join us for lots of good food, games and fun on Saturday evening,” said Scoles, carnival coordinator. “It will be a great night of fun for the whole family.”
