The Field Kindley Golden Tornado are bound for the class 4A state playoffs following the team’s 47-13 win over the Fredonia Yellowjackets on Thursday. Coffeyville will play at Columbus next Tuesday, Nov. 3, for the class 4A state playoff opener.
The Independence Bulldogs were winners in the class 4A district playoffs on Thursday. Independence thrashed Neodesha, 52-28. The Bulldogs will host Labette County on Tuesday night, Nov. 3, for the class 4A opener. At last check, Labette County had a 34-0 lead over Parsons late in the 4th quarter.
Cherryvale High School will host the first round of the class 3A state playoffs next Tuesday against the Riverton Rams. Cherryvale defeated Southeast-Cherokee on Thursday, 35-0, while Riverton was a 44-0 winner over Baxter Springs. More details later at www.taylornews.org/mcc.
The Caney Valley High School football team’s hopes for the class 3A state playoffs were dashed Thursday with a 31-0 loss to the Galena Bulldogs. Caney Valley finishes its season with a 7-2 record.
