UPDATE: Four arrests made in Caney drug bust

Four Caney residents were arrested following a drug investigation at a Caney home last Saturday, Oct. 24.

Police chief Rick Pell said the Caney Police Department executed a search warrant at the residence of Devlin Jay Elroy McConnell at 217 E. Third. During the search, police officers located methamphetamines, numerous pills and large amounts of drug paraphernalia throughout the property.

Arrested at the scene were McConnell, who is age 34; Michael Jacob Raffety, age 18; Brock Sanders, age 18; and Ariel Renea Seaton, age 18. A 17-year-old juvenile also was present during the search.

All four subjects were arrested and made their first appearance in 14th Judicial District Court in Independence on Monday, Oct. 26, where they each face charges of:

• possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell with 1000 feet of a school (the property is two blocks south of Lincoln Memorial Elementary School),

• possession of a controlled substance (pills),

• possession of marijuana,

• felony possession of drug paraphernalia, and

• furnishing alcohol to a minor (four counts).

Each of the four arrested persons has bond set at $20,000.

He also said further charges and arrests are pending the completion of the investigation.

The Caney Police Department arrested a 39-year-old Caney resident following a search warrant that was issued at local residence on Friday, Oct. 9.

Police chief Rick Pell said Shawn Timmerman, 39, was arrested at 107 N. Ridgeway on the charge of outstanding arrest warrants in Oklahoma. While conducting the search warrants, Pell said officers located methamphetamine, marijuana and large amounts of drug paraphernalia throughout the property.

Pell said that during the search of the property, Preston Mack Bellmyer, age 31, Christy Ann Coke, age 38, and Kenneth J. Martin, age 27, were all present. Bellmyer is the owner or tenant of the property.

Pell said all four subjects will be charged with possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamines and felony possession of drug paraphernalia.

The investigation into the property search is ongoing, and Pell said further charges and arrests may arise.

This is the fourth drug search warrant issued by the Caney Police Department in the past 12 months, Pell said. Two of the search warrants were for the manufacture of methamphetamines.
