Changes under at Coffeyville’s Prestige Cabinets

COFFEYVILLE — Changes are underway at a Coffeyville-based cabinet manufacturer.

RSI Home Products, the Anaheim, Calif.-based parent company of Prestige Cabinets in Coffeyville, announced Tuesday that it was redesigning and launching a new kitchen cabinet line and will be discontinuing production of the Prestige brand by the end of 2009.

The Prestige product brand has been produced in Neodesha, Kan., since 1967 and in 2008 expanded and relocated to Coffeyville.

Steve Stark, Prestige’s vice president of marketing, said the new kitchen cabinet line called Trademark will be built on a more efficient platform and will have a much more attractive price.

“The concept is to achieve the higher end look and great features that we have always had with the Prestige brand and build it at a more economical price point,” he said.

The redesign is largely due to the continued challenges in the economy which have had a greater impact on higher-price line of cabinets, he said.

In addition to the new product design, RSI has recently moved several other product lines that are produced for Home Depot and Lowe’s Home Improvement stores to the Coffeyville location.

“By making these changes we’re able to maintain most of our workforce here in is Kansas,” he said.

Stark will now oversee marketing and product development for all made-to-order product for both the dealer market and home centers.

RSI Home Products is the largest manufacturer of bath vanities in the world and the fourth largest cabinet maker and has plants in Mexico, California, Kansas and North Carolina.
