“Lights! Camera! Action! Take One–From the Wildcats!” will be the theme of Spirit Week activities to be held at Cherryvale Middle-High School next week.
Each day has been designated with a specific theme and is centered around popular movies.
Monday’s theme is titled “Elf: Get in the Spirit,” and students are asked to dress as their favorite holiday.
No school will be held on Tuesday due to staff development workshops.
Students are asked to dress like hillbillies on Wednesday, where the theme is “Beverly Hillbillies: Local Yokels.”
Tie-dyed T-shirts will be the norm on Thursday, where the theme is “Taking Woodstock: Hip-notize the Wildcats.” Students are asked to dress like hippies.
Another Thursday event will be the bonfire, which will be held at 7 p.m., at the CHS football practice field.
On Friday, Oct. 2, the theme is “”Dodgeball: Pelt ‘Em.” Students are asked to wear Charger shirts or the colors of their class. They are seniors (purple and black), juniors (red and yellow), sophomores (green) and freshmen (plaid and denim).
Another event on Friday, Oct. 2, is the CHS Homecoming Parade, which will be held at 2 p.m., and culminate with a pep rally at Logan Park.
All events will be capped with the crowning of the CHS Homecoming Queen prior to the Oct. 2 football game between Cherryvale and Burlington. Coronation will take place at 6:30 p.m, at the Logan Park Stadium.
Queen candidates include CHS seniors Shannon Blaes, Kylie Paine and Bri Smedley. Their escorts include Cody Linnebur, Roman Lopez and Shane Hammer.
Following the football game on Oct. 2, a homecoming dance for CHS students and their dates will be held in the Cherryvale Middle-High School Commons Area until midnight.
