Coffeyville city commissioner Jim Taylor on Tuesday night cast accusations of “deceitfulness” and “careless negligence” against two city employees for the handling of a proposed housing project in downtown Coffeyville.
Taylor’s accusations were aimed at city manager Jeff Morris and city planner Dennis Jacobs. Morris denied being negligent in the handling of the proposed housing project and said further that information about the project was fully made available to the commission, including Taylor. Morris also said he took offense to Taylor’s use of the word “deceitfulness” in characterizing his work for the City of Coffeyville. The remainder of the commission also said they felt Morris had brought information to the commission in an honest, open manner.
More details about Tuesday’s meeting will be printed in the Sept. 10 edition of the Montgomery County Chronicle.
