COFFEYVILLE — Changes are underway at a Coffeyville-based cabinet manufacturer.

RSI Home Products, the Anaheim, Calif.-based parent company of Prestige Cabinets in Coffeyville, announced Tuesday that it was redesigning and launching a new kitchen cabinet line and will be discontinuing production of the Prestige brand by the end of 2009.

CHERRYVALE — The Cherryvale Teachers’ Association, the bargaining unit for faculty in the Cherryvale school district, has filed a breach of contract lawsuit against the USD 447 Board of Education.

The lawsuit was filed Friday, Sept. 25, in Montgomery County Court, and the Cherryvale Teachers’ Association’s petition was signed by David Schauner, an attorney with the Kansas National Education Association.

CANEY — A retired Caney couple on Monday announced plans to build a community center/teen center at the corner of First and Ridgeway streets.

Retired Caney physician Robert Moore and his wife, Betty, told Caney city councilors of their desire to build a community center that not only will house a large room for civic club meetings and social gatherings but also a facility for teenagers to enjoy after-school and weekend  activities.
