Bargain hunters will get their pockets full and sightseers will get an eye full when they visit the 2nd Annual Kan-Okla 100-Mile Highway Sale — a multi-city event bringing together various towns and tourist attractions — on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 11-12.
The Kansas cities of Sedan, Independence, Caney, Tyro, Dearing and Coffeyville along with the Oklahoma cities of Lenapah, Dewey, Nowata, Copan and Bartlesville will see hundreds of yard sales in those towns as well as other events designed to lure tourists and bargain hunters. So far, the towns of Sedan, Independence, Caney, Dewey, Coffeyville and Nowata are planning citywide rummage sales.
Other organizations are planning events in an attempt to bring dollars to the southeast Kansas and northeast Oklahoma region. Among the other activites on the 2nd Annual Kan-Okla 100 Mile Highway Sale schedule:
• Tyro Christian Church Car Show: Tyro Christian Church will hold its 7th Annual Car Show on the church grounds, located on U.S. 166 highway.
