AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT IN PLANNING COMMISSION CASE NO. Z-4-09.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF CANEY, KANSAS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section One.  That a Conditional Use Permit for purposes of establishing and operating a small engine repair business within an R-1 Residential District be and is hereby approved for the following described property, to-wit:
Lots 13 and 14, Block 25, First Addition to the City of Caney, Montgomery County, Kansas, commonly known as 600 N. Wood Street.
Section Two:  That the Conditional Use Permit shall be subject to the following condition, as recommended by the Planning Commission:
• The hours of operation shall be limited to Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Sundays from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m., and no more than three (3) weekdays until no later than 6:00 p.m.
Section Three:  The Conditional Use Permit shall be subject to the provisions of the Caney Zoning Regulations and ordinances now in effect or as may hereafter be amended.
Section Four.  This Ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its adoption and approval by the Governing Body of the City of Caney, Kansas, and publication in the official city newspaper.

CHILD FIND
Tri-County Special Education Interlocal No. 607 is notifying the local communities of its intent to find children with developmental delays or suspected disabilities from age three (3) through ages six (6) who live within the school district boundaries or the Interlocal. The local school districts services by the Interlocal are: Caney, Cherryvale, Coffeyville, Fredonia, Independence, Neodesha, and Parsons.
Free developmental screenings and hearing and vision screenings are available for children ages three (3) through six (6). These screenings are offered within each of these local communities on a monthly basis during the school year. If you would like to schedule an appointment for a screening, please contact Tri-County Special education Interlocal No. 607 in Independence at (620) 331-6303.
If you have a child or know a child with developmental delays or suspected disabilities age six (6) or older, please contact the child’s local school personnel. Children ages birth through three may be referred to the Interlocal for assistance in contacting the appropriate service provider in your area.

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires each local board of education in Kansas to provide special education and related services to exceptional children. Exceptional children include children who are gifted and preschool ages 3 and 4 in addition to children with disabilities as defined in the Federal Individual with Disabilities Education Act.
