CANEY — Sixty-eight members of the Caney Valley High School Class of 2009 will receive their diplomas at a commencement program at 7 p.m., Saturday, May 16, in the CVHS main gym.
The program will begin with the the senior high band playing the fanfare and processional with the traditional “Pomp and Circumstance.”
CVHS principal Justin Lockwood will give the welcome followed by the introduction of co-salutatorians Alyssa Whitman and Caitlin Estes by Danny Fulton, superintendent. Fulton will then present the class valedictorian, Shari Blecha.
sThe presentation of the class will be given by Justin Lockwood and acceptance of the class will be given by USD 436 Board of Education president Tim Rigdon.
Each member of the senior class will then be announced as they receive their diplomas and congratulations from the senior class sponsors.
The program will end with the fanfare and recessional with the playing of “Consecration of the House” by the senior high band.

The class motto is “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).
The class song is “Time of My Life” by David Cook; class flower is a white rose dipped in pink and orange; and the class colors are yellow and orange. Senior class sponsors are Val Coleman, Robert Eden, Kathy Faulkenberry, Connie Griffin and Julie Vestal.
