No arrests in Coffeyville homicide

No arrests have yet been made in the shooting death of a 47-year-old Coffeyville man early Sunday morning (April 12).

Commander Mike Brown of the Coffeyville Police Department said Floyd Johnson, 47, of 1310 W. 12th, was shot and killed in an apparent drive-by shooting at about 1:50 a.m., in the front yard at 901 W. 14th

Brown said Johnson was killed after an altercation that occurred late Saturday night at The Zone, 2300 Woodland, in Coffeyville. The altercation involved relatives of Johnson and another group of people.

Brown said Johnson was in the yard on West 14th Street when a light colored, small car drove eastbound on 14th Street past the residence. The suspect vehicle was possibly being driven by a white female and was occupied by several black males. One or more of the occupants of the vehicle began firing in the direction of the residence, striking Mr.
Johnson.

Mr. Johnson’s body will be transported to the Shawnee County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy, Brown said.

The Coffeyville Police Department is currently pursuing several leads in regards to this homicide and is asking anyone who witnessed the disturbance at The Zone or the shooting at 901 W. 14th Street to contact the Detective Division at one of the following phone numbers: 620-252-6010, 620-252-6145 or 620-252-6197.
