Three area high school basketball players earned recognition by the state’s two largest newspapers on Sunday.

The Topeka Capital-Journal and Wichita Eagle picked Cherryvale High School senior Kelsey Overacker to the all-class 3A second team following the conclusion of her career at the class 3A state tournament on March 7.

Also recognized from Cherryvale was senior forward Sara Schwaninger, who earned placement on the all-class 3A honorable mention list

Caney Valley High School senior guard Morgan Rolls returned to the all-state list for the second year in a row. The Eagle and Capital-Journal each listed Rolls as a player on the all-class 4A honorable mention.

Rolls concluded her career in a Bullpup uniform as the third-highest scoring player in CVHS women’s history (1,240 points).
