Earl Jean Critchfield

COFFEYVILLE — Earl Jean Critchfield, 79, of Coffeyville died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 28, at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home, 2405 Woodland Ave, in Coffeyville. Interment was held at Penwell-Gabel’s Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in the Masonic Garden.

Memorial contributions may be given to the First Baptist Church or to the Shriners Hospitals for Children in care of the funeral home.

Hilton K. Davis

COFFEYVILLE — Hilton Kunze Davis, 92, a retired Navy captain, of Coffeyville died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 2 p.m., at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf- Bruns Chapel with J. Collins, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Coffeyville, officiating. Military honors will be held by a detachment from the United States Navy.

Following the service, cremation will take place and inurnment will take place at a later time at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery.

The family has suggested memorial remembrances to the First United Methodist Church of Coffeyville and remembrances will be received at the funeral home.

COFFEYVILLE — Dr. William C. “Bill” Hall, 85, of Coffeyville died Saturday evening, Oct. 25, 2008 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at the Penwell-Gabel Ford Wulf Bruns Chapel with Steve Posey, pastor of the South Coffeyville, Okla., Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be at the Penwell-Gabel Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home until 9 p.m. tonight (Thursday). The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. tonight.

The family suggests memorial remembrances to the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine and remembrances will be received at the funeral home.

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – Former Wayside resident James Thomas “Jay” Bell, 98, of Bartlesville, Okla., died Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, at Green Country Retirement Community.

His funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the Wayside Church in Wayside, Kan., with Rev. David Brown officiating. Interment was at the Fawn Creek Cemetery near Tyro, Kan.

The Walker-Brown Funeral Home, Bartlesville, was in charge of arrangements.

CHERRYVALE – William “Bill” Franklin Bertie, 88, of Cherryvale and formerly of Independence, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at the Mercy Hospital.

Cremation has taken place. The family suggests memorials to the Blake Bertie Cancer Foundation at the First Federal Savings & Loan and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel, Cherryvale or Independence.

INDEPENDENCE – Paul Anthony Seiler, 60, of Independence, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, at his home.

His funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 27, at the Potts Chapel, Independence, with burial at Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence.

Memorials are suggested to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and these may be left at the funeral home.

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Edith May Sprague, age 96, former longtime Caney resident, passed away Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at the Overland Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Overland Park, Kan.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, at the Caney United Methodist Church with Rev. Angela DeFisher officiating. Burial was at the Elk Falls Cemetery at Elk Falls, Kan.

INDEPENDENCE — Gary Dean Skinner, 54, of Independence died Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Okla.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service washeld at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 18, at the First Baptist Church of Independence. Services were under the direction of the Penwell-Gabel Webb & Rodrick Chapel of Independence.

The family has suggested memorial remembrances to the Gary Dean Skinner Fund and remembrances will be received at the funeral home.

COFFEYVILLE – Zachary Neal “Zach” Bromley, 20, of Coffeyville, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
His Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 20, at the Holy Name Catholic Church, Coffeyville, with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Coffeyville.

COFFEYVILLE – Irene Augusta (Raasch) Bachman, 81, of Coffeyville, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 15, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Coffeyville with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, Coffeyville.

INDEPENDENCE – Darlene Brown, 65, of Independence, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, at the Mercy Hospital, Independence.

Her funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at the Potts Chapel, Independence, with burial at the Pratt Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Sycamore Volunteer Fire Department and these may be left at Potts Chapel, Independence.
