Two Cherryvale men were arrested last Friday night, July 25, after their alleged involvement in several local burglaries one week earlier.
Assistant police chief Perry Lambert said Steven Kimzey, 20, and Timothy Drake, 20, of 431 W. Independence were arrested following a search warrant at their property. The two men are allegedly to have been involved with the break-in and burglary of the Tropical Snow stand at Liberty and Main streets as well as burglary of several car stereos sometime between July 18 and July 19.
Drake is charged with three counts of burglary while Kimzey will face two charges, including two counts of burglary and one count of felony obstruction.
Lambert said several stolen car stereos, which have a combined value of about $1,200, were discovered in the home.
An arrest made by the Independence Police Department earlier in the week helped the Cherryvale Police Department initiate the search warrant at the Cherryvale home.
Lambert said the Independence Police Department and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department were involved in the case.
