The Labette County High School Athletic Department announces the appointment of Shane Holtzman as the new Grizzly Head Football Coach. Holtzman’s selection was approved Monday Dec. 14, at the USD #506 board meeting.

Labette County High School will hold its annual Basketball “Pop” Scrimmage on Tuesday, Nov. 24,  in the Harrison Gymnasium beginning at 6 p.m.
Admission is a container of soda or gatorade per person.
Concessions will be available and all proceeds go to support LCHS Athletic and Activity Programs.

Labette County Choral and Theatre Departments will present “Guys and Dolls” based on a story by Damon Runyon, music and lyrics by Frank Loesser, book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows on Nov. 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 14 at 2:30 p.m. in Harrison Auditorium.

The freshman and junior varsity football games that were originally scheduled to be played at Lucas Field on the campus of Labette County High School, have been moved to Independence for Tuesday Sept 8.
The location of the games is the only change regarding these 2 football contests.

The freshman game will kick off at 5 p.m. as usual.

The junior varsity game will kick off at approximately 7 p.m.

Months of hard work and rehearsals came to fruition on Saturday evening, May 23, when the Music Company from Labette County High School opened on the big stage for “The Legends In Concert” at the Dick Clark American Bandstand Theater in Branson, Missouri.
Fifteen students under the direction of LCHS choral teacher, Randy Blackwell, sang and danced to a nice sized and enthusiastic Memorial Day Weekend crowd. Read more

MANHATTAN, Kan. – A member of the Labette County FFA Chapter was recognized Thursday for having one of the best career development programs in the state at the 81st Kansas FFA Convention.

Bradley Don Bohnenblust received a State FFA Proficiency award during the convention for outstanding accomplishments he has made in developing programs that will prepare him for a career in agriculture. Read more
